Bougainville is the largest island in the Solomons group and lies to the east of PNG.
Paradise for popping and stickbaiting GT's and other reef fish.

Nice bass. They go bloody hard on surface lures don't they.
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.
I've caught them before at the Rowley Shoals but this is the bigest so far, might be able to better it next year.

Not sure about the cig but the locals call them red fish and say that they are good kai kai (food). We saw quite a few smaller bass in the markets for sale and not many dead people so they might be OK.

They go hard as f*$K for there size, that's for sure! And yes the bigger ones are known carriers of Ciguateria.
