Bream hot spot

Hi all,

I was over at the narrows the other day, and a couple of guys were pulling up a few kilo size bream about 2 meters from their feet. No sinkers, just pieces of bony herring on a circle hook. So if any one is keen.... skip fishmarket reserve and head down there about 10pm.

Type in fishmarket reserve on Google. Then hit the maps tag. You will get a satellite and a street map to show you exactly where it is.

Had a fish with a mate in South Guildford on Friday night (yep it pissed down as well) and the bream were going nuts. Nothing big but we caught and relased around 10 in just over an hour and every cast was getting knocked off. There were allot of yellowtail around as well

Mon, 2009-03-30 10:42

went to fishmarket reserve last thursday night with the missus and once again got nothing, i was using a long shank hook with a running sinker and casting close to the trees and snags and got a few BIG bites at about dusk and then nothing after the sun went down, the missus caught a couple of undersize bream. Gonna go down again tomorrow night and try my luck

It is a funny thing Rowshow, but sometimes you will get better

bream fishing during the day. I think tidal movements are more important than time of the day. Ideally you should try fishing an hour either side of low and high tide. Which can be a little hard to work out that far up river.

I think high tide around

Mon, 2009-03-30 18:57

I think high tide around bassendean and Guildford is best. We had a fish under lilac hill bridge on friday night and did not even get a bite for about an hour went down to South Guildford and landed 5 or 6 bream and heaps of yellowtail in about 2 hours so go figure

Prawns work great Rowshow. However, you might get bigger fish

Wed, 2009-04-01 10:23

if you try something like bluebait or whitebait, live crabs or mussels. Your rig is fine.
