Hello all,
Long time reader, first time poster here. I went down to dampier ave for a bit of crabbing last week (first time crabbing) and only got about 5 just legal size crabs which i threw back in becuase i was only after bigger ones, My question is this......Whats a good place in perth or mandurah that i can drop a few nets and then go scooping around the same area??? Dampier ave looked abit deep. Also i went down at about 530 is this too late? it was pretty cold and even rained..... do crabs like the warmer weather? Any help would be great.

Mate
Formally from Parkridge in Mandurah and the whole area along the Estuary to Island point is good for scooping when the crabs are on. But in the last few yrs scooping has been hit and miss, with Island point further south the pick. Not an expert on nets from shore.
Hope this helps

No mate
Damier Av is in Falcon. Head further south and you will not miss the cut. Then first left will take you down to the Estuary. From here down to Island point is tons better. Have a look at the map and just zoom out and you will see it.

Once over the cut
And a turn Left there is a scout hall with a private ramp, and about 1.5km further is the dawesville boat ramp, opposite the Little Leprechaun Shop.
Hope this helps

Yep that's right. Follow
Yep that's right. Follow that road down and along the estuary to the boat ramp. I find anywhere from the boat ramp and further south is a good scooping place. If you have a boat, drop it in at the boat ramp in Dawesville and go across the other side of the estuary, anchor and get out and scoop. It's less popular as you can only get there by boat and you'll get your limit in no time.
