Breaming
Went for a flick yesterday evening to a spot I frequent, met a guy there who was bait fishing and he was quite happy withhimself after landing a33cm,the biggest he had got in awhile and i thought maybe it could be a good evening!with no hook ups after an hour(usually an active spot for me).
i decided to move on to a couple more spots with not much luck, couple of tiny fish but nothing major, not put off as the weather was good and I was just enjoying being by the river, then hit a spot where it got interesting.
hooked onto"a decent fish" awesome power my heart was racing as I new if I landed it it would be my pb. Landed her for a quick pic and released again, went 36/37
shortly after hooked another, smaller fish but actually gave an even better fight than the previous.landed for another quick pick and release.things went quite for a while and then hooked on to something big again that started peeling line, changing direction hard, then changed again And went rite for a tree, put pressure on the spool to slow down and tried to guide him out but he broke me off,was using 6lb braid with 5lbleader, I decided not to rig up again and left them bitting.fish caught after 6pm,upper swan on z-mans grub in pumpkin seed colour
not massive fish, but certainly a big jump up for me from high 20 to 30 cm range I was gettin before, have to say I was buzzing after it. Still stoked so wanted to share, please excuse the bad pics, was rushing the process to get fish bak in ASAP, can't wait to get out again,

Good job. not a bad pic
Good job. not a bad pic after all. I prefer to use motoroil color or blood worm color. The other killer color for me is the watermelon something..

Cheers guys
uluabusterI did hear motor oil are the goods, will be picking some up alright.
turbozha ha yea was stocked mate,I use it cause it sits nicely out of my back pack so I can reach back and grab it (robin hood style)for a quick measure and picture without having to take my bag off, always have fisheries ruler sticker in there too but haven had to bust that one out yet,
I was using my I phone camera but I have it in a tradys cover which is great to keep phone safe but if your hands are wet and your pumped with addrenalinn the rubber bit over the lense is hard to open, have a good camera but phone is just so easy for a quick upload to the site

Thanks for sharing mate. I've landed a some bream, 20cm and a few quite smaller + a nice flatty off the canning flats using grubs and hard bodies.. Seems to going ok there in the evenings its just a pisser getting there in the traffic. Im keen to try upper swan area but i get quite annoyed snapping off on snags.

A bream in the high 30's is nothing to sneeze at, good work especially sticking it out before you got a bite

I've lost quite a bit of gear,I only use soft plastics around snags now as I'd rather loose a jig head or two rather than a $20 lure, and I have had a lot more success on sp rather than hb,I've only landed a few small flat toys last summer, but think il be investing a bit more time into them this year,I like to get into a big one

Leader size
Great fish mate well done. Pays off hunting a few places in a sesh. Just thought maybe on ya leader size running 6pm main line should prob be around 8lb. Less fish. But bigger PBs! Or even 4lb with a 6lb leader is plenty. I always use slighty heavier leader than my main line. Flouro carbs of coarse

Thanks mate I will take your advice and bump my leader up,been planning on trying for a few lizards soon so it would be a good idea I reckon and better chance getting hook back when caught in snags, decent lizard is on the to-do list this summer,I release all my river catches, does anyone hear use there bream gear off the beach for flatties or whiting??if I caught one from ocean I'd like to keep one for a feed, not keen on idea of eating one from river as I've heard so many bad storeys or are these ok to eat?
