Bridport Point
Mixed Bag @ Bridport Point
mainly bait fish apart from the Tailor
Fished last night untill around 10pm
Started off using a pencil float to see if I would catch any thing after reading my fishing book. ( Australian Fishing & Lure Encyclopedia )
First fish caught using the pencil float was a Yellow Tail, ya that goes onto the live bait rod, wishing and hoping for a strike
2nd cast I land a Herring and a Whiting, both in the bucket for Live bait, so far so good
3rd cast I land a garfish, nice fat one too, into the bucket for eating, yum
4th cast I land a yellow eye mullet, into the bucket for Mulloway bait on Saturday night
In the mean time kids are landing Herring and Tailor, all my kids caught two Tailor each, all toll we caught 14 Tailor, came home with 6 this time round and happy faces from the kids, boy did they sleep well,
No takes on the big rod, some thing took my Yellow Tail with out the line moving, and I think the crabs got the live Tailor I had out, no sign of Mr shark yet

Yep that's right The old Blackfish float I'm trying out all soughts of stuff to catch me live bait.
Was unsure were to put the spilt shot, from what I uderstand the float will sit up when a fish is on, but it didn't do that, probley because of were I placed the split shot, any one know about these floats.

You need to have it above the eye TT
I use the plastic caps that come off tyre valves. You poke a hole through the end end then feed it onto the line above the float. You can then move the cap up and down to adjust the depth you want to fish at. I spent many years tossing thoswe floats out for blackfish.

Colin have you got an image of this type of float you are talking about ?
I got a few more today different type's, the packet ones are $2:50 each and the others are from $1:00 to $1:60
I was asked if I came from S.A today because I bought the pencil floats, he was saying alot of South Australian Aussie's used these floats.
