Brief Midday Fish

Weather was rough as guts out wide yesterday ... but decided to rough it and head out for a brief fish nonetheless. Managed to bag a few, but drift rate made it challenging. Pic attached.

I took the old man and my 7y old out just after 1:30pm and it wasn't very pleasant at all with the 17kn southerly and we were anchored inside the 3 Mile in 5m. I ended up cleaning up my son's significant amount of vomit off the deck haha.
The herring numbers were absolutely ridiculous though and all huge, I was just pulling in one after another with a small diving minnow

Indeed, not pleasant. We were outside the 3 mile ... really unsettled ocean swell from the night before mixed with the strong southerly made it fun! One of my crew wasn't looking too well early on, and spent the trip 'watching' ... understand why your 7yo would have been a little sick! :) Well done on the herring! Any gardies/squid about?

We only lasted 45 mins before
We only lasted 45 mins before the little man was far too ill to continue so didn't have a crack at the squid and didn't notice any gardies and the water was pretty clear. I had a live herring out but ended up releasing him unmolested.
At least the ramp was a dream getting in and out
