Broome Landbased Help

Hey guys I am heading up to Broome next week for a mates wedding & cant resist wetting a line so I thought Id ask for a bit of help where to fish from shore up there. I know there are huge tides & obviosly the neap tide will be the best but havent got a clue where to fish.

I have been told there should be threadfin running out front of cable beach this time of year & maybe try the wharf for mulloway etc any other help would be appreciated cheers.

p.s Im only throwing metals, jigs & soft plastics & hardbodies

If anyone up there needs a deckie or a fishing buddy I will be there from the 4th to the 9th August 2010

Hey hit n run,

Ill be getting home on the 3rd for two weeks. Looks like itll be good tides also. I might give you a bell if conditions are good and take you out. I only got a 435 hornet tinny but its good to go out a fair way of conditions are good. (might chase some sailies even if you keen)

I might give you a bell. Seems like everytime I take someone else out they destroy me and catch all sorts of good fish...(hey biggerfish..)lol

No promises but ill keep in touch.

This time of year, hit the

This time of year, hit the beaches round the bay for schooling trev's, queenies, salmon. Town beach etc...on high tides....

also entrance point aound the rocks there, and under the jetty youll usually find some good fish accross the top with lures. (Poppers/shallow diving) Watch out for submerged rock everywhere with lures. Try stick to the top of the water column.

Also off the jetty. Have seen heaps of good fish from there(coral trout, mackies, trev's,queenies, bluebone, the list goes on) Most will take some sort of lure with white lead head jigs doing a fair bit of damage... Take a cliff gaff if want to land something big but...

High tides go round to bird observatory and get some livies or strip bait herring for threadies/salmon, sml baits will get whiting. also a few sml sharks will be around..

Also watch birds working in close can usually find schooling trevs/salmon also thats within casting distance... If you check it out on low tide youll see some holes etc that are quite fishy on high tide..

The dates youll be there there wont be huge tide movement so you may get muddy feet..lol

Can also walk into dampier ck thru the mangroves and throw lures/live bait for jacks, salmon etc...

Ive never caught anything on cable beach or seen anything caught. Not too say people havent but.

Also off the rocks around lighthouse you will get heaps of sml trout, dart, gardies, trev's etc... I balooned a gardie off there once a while ago and got spooled by something that didnt want to stop....(shark possibly. I like to think it was a saily)lol.  Get some sml crabs and throw around also for bluebone...

hpefully the wind will be good and we'll head out a few mile.. Should be good.

Hope this helps...
