Burley bucket almost done

After losing my burley bucket a few months back I decided to make one of my own (much to my wife's discust haha) she sat there patiently holding it as I drilled each of the 525 holes... Just have to fininsh making them larger, going for a cheese grater affect. I used 150mm Storm water pipe and made it 480mm high.

Is the screw cap the lid or
Is the screw cap the lid or the base that you can unscrew and flush out?

I've got one the same and
I've got one the same and I've got a push on cap on the bottom. I filled the push on cap with lead otherwise it would float off. It also pays to drill a couple of holes in the lid to let the air out quicker.

Good onya for making them yourself much better than the brought types .. I made a couple myself , large one is same as yours 480 x 150mm initially had small holes but ended up putting larger 22mm holes in to get more chunky burley flow and small one is 300 x 100mm with 10mm holes which works well for straight pollard burley mix .. for the old frames etc we use the scaling bag . Just put eyebolts and nuts/washers either side on screw top lid and yeah they need to be weighted in the base and we try to keep it just off the bottom and give it a jiggle every now and then it certainly brings the fishys in good and bad lol .. My biggest drama is forgetting to bring it up when getting underway doh !!

Mine is similar but i connected the lead base at the bottom to some cord so that everytime the bucket was pulled up or down the lead would slide up and down the tube ,helping to squeeze the burley out.

mine is a 100mm diameter one
mine is a 100mm diameter one and i freeze my burley bombs in 90mm dia pipe. this allows the burley to slide up and down to shake it up instead of using the lead.
