Burns beach,no tailor

Fished burns beach yesterday arvo with a mate,we were trying gold and silver twistys, roosters and some other popper with no luck.we were picking up small herring but that was it,didn't keep any we were just chasing tailor

on my way back up spoke to a fisho on his way down and he said that it was the exact same Saturday evening,he was going to use unweighted muile last night to see if that made a difference, just wondering was anybody else there over the weekend and did they get any results, conditions were clean,no weed and no wind and just a light breeze!

all in all an enjoyable evening but no keepers!

I fish Burns Beach quite

Mon, 2013-03-11 11:44

I fish Burns Beach quite regularly and there has been no bite from Tailor in the evening. I have caught a few on the early morning rise. Mostly at the moment are small Mulloway and some huge bust offs at Burns durring the night. I caught a 700mm long Mulloway on last Saturday night and two bust offs.

Burns Beach is quite a good spot as there ar a few decent parts of the beach to fish.

You need to know the area and where the fish are. For example. Snapper is caught off the small groyne, a day or two after a huge storm. I`m gonna try tonight or Tues night.

Cheers

TY

Mulla

Mon, 2013-03-11 17:22

That's good to hear guys, its reasuring to hear how others are doing when you fish a spot and your not finding the your target fish,i will have start reading up on mullas and give it a go,do they take a lure?

i much prefer lures to bait, getting one would be very nice indeed.my mates is very keen to use sliding baits I presume they would be ideal for mulla.

Mullas take lures but I've never tried, someone out there may be able to help

Though I prefer to soak baits and wait, I do have some sp's that may be ideal so I may give it a go at some point.

 Mullas only take bait, not

Mon, 2013-03-11 20:56

Mullas only take bait, not lures. They are a type of fish that suck the bait and then run. When they suck the bait and feel tension. They will then spit it out.

There are heaps of reef. Especially at the groyne and north of the groyne. You can take your pick.
