Busselton squiding
Submitted by Callum24 on Sun, 2016-12-25 12:59
For chrismas this year the misses has planned a squid fishing trip in busso and a few Bob for new jigs.
Just wondering what size and colour jigs do the damage down there
We'll be starting at the jetty and having a look around for other spots
Cheers Cal

About to head down there
About to head down there ourselves, white jigs seem to do the most damage in particular the white shimano and the white with blue markings yamashita live search that has a rattle in it. If there's squid there and the sun is out those two will catch.

Same jigs by natural brown colours worked for me
especially if water is crystal clear. We had out 3 jigs, White brown and pink.
brown hit every time

I guess
the first question is are you restricted to Landbased or have a boat?
It's a little late in the season but there should still be the odd squid around.
Landbased just stick to the jetty, anywhere from the bend out and you should find some.
If you have a boat I would be looking anywhere from Dunsborough to Port Geo in around 5-9m over broken bottom.
I personally find darker natural colours best eg. Browns, Blacks, Purple.
