He makes a good coffee. Open to suggestions on how to get coffees out to the boats in the queue coming in. Drone? Zodiac?

Dunno about OR but we were bream fishing around Basso/Guildford on Sunday and Mr Whippy on a boat appeared out of nowhere so we pulled up alongside him and got a nice cold drink. The kids are gonna love him this summer on the river.

Heard Fisheries had another good catch
I have heard fellow with a fairly decent rig had a heated discussion with some firsheries officers at OR this morning. The bloke must have broken down because the helpful fisheries officer called a tow truck to help transport his boat. Anyone hear or see it?

Is there a logical reason why pots shouldn't be pulled before 4.30am? I know the rules say they can't but why? It may be obvious but to this newcomer it's not.

hey Alan, not 100% positive on this answer but I think it's based on daylight hours so fisheries can more easily monitor pot pulling by amateurs, also with the divers crays are more active and vulnerable at night.
My spots are so secret even the fish don't know about them !

If what you say is correct (and I have no reason to doubt it) then the 4.30am start is more about fisheries policing than protection of the crays themselves especially with regard to potters. I might just send an email off to fisheries and see what they have to say. I have no interest in pulling pots outside of daylight hours but nonetheless interested in why the rules say 4.30am start.

Its more about when crays are active.
So someone can check their pot at say 10.30pm at night, get there 8 or 16 or 24 crays, then go back out the next morning and get another bag, effectively catching 2 bag limits over 1 night.

I havn't seen one shark this season or the last season when pulling pots, sounds like everyone else sees plenty but we don't seem to be so lucky.
