Submitted by dpost80 on Sat, 2009-01-24 07:34
G'day everyone,
I'm heading down to Busselton soon - be out on the boat tomorrow and Monday - but am keen to have a crack at some Tailor from the side...
Anyone know of any spots (in the general area of Busselton/Dunsborough) worth giving a crack... all tips appreciated.
cheers,
damo

Mitchell's rock
Usually get a few from Mitchells rock.Take the next turn past Canal rocks turnoff,Wyadup/Injidup road, turn left towards Injidup, take next right to Mitchell's. Been a long time since I have been there but I believe there is a bitumen road/carpark there now

Mate of mine has been
Mate of mine has been getting a few good sized tailor from the Wilyabrup creek mouth. Down Wilyabrup Road to the end then follow the offroad track that runs through the property to the north, then a bit of a walk down If you cant be bother walking to the beach the rocks just to the south of the beach works to, just need a smaller swell to fish off them effectivly.
The only other place i saw tailor when i was out there last was at the end of the busso jetty in my boat on dusk. Got some good sizers on mulies cast towards the pylons.
Correct on that canarvonite there is a carpark down at mitchells now but still gravel road to it, but all nice a compacted, easy for a 2wd.

it is, winter is much better as the sand shifts and you get some nice deep holes,
seen a large sambo hooked to the right ,(sand in that pic) swim out to get mauled by a shark, lots of salmon & tailor of the rocks ..
