Buyer beware !!!

Have noticed that in recent weeks there has been quite a bit of new or very close to it advertised in the for sale section by new members who have been on the site for a very short time. They may be true blue but then again who can say? None of them has filled in their profile so myself, I would be very wary .

Bad timimg for me then!
Jeez Guys
I've just posted my Shark Cat for sale & read this talk about bad timing!!!
I don't post that much as I don't always have something to add that hasn't already been said by other members.
I hope with my advert that you can see its legit - I;ve added the link to boats on line for people who want to have a look at her.
You're right though as I've had two scammers in the last couple of weeks contact me regarding the boat- you'd think they'd give up . I just put their phone numbers into google and up they pop with various comments about them. They're scum of the earth- flat out.
Cheers

yeh your shark cat looks like
yeh your shark cat looks like a great boat, just dont sell to anyone who wants it shipped to them or have a "delivery agent" pick it up on behalf of them. the best idea is to meet the buyer and take money then let them tow the boat away.
hope you sell it rob

Thanks Guys for the advice
Yeah - you re right about the scammers - its a pity they can't do something more positive with their lives - I'm pretty big on the karma stakes so theres a good chance they'll be getting theirs sooner rather than later. Yep it'll be a matter of try 'n' buy for the cat - hope theres someone looking for a stable boat - she's not a race craft but has a good ride and for us we've caught some awesome Pinkies outta her - think my eldest boy is a big sad on me for selling but I've bought another boat so its time for the Cat to go to a new owner to enjoy as I have. I'm going back to a mono hull around 18ft so its gonna be interesting to see how we both adjust after having the Cat for whats probably 5 years - jeez time flies!

i think its a bit off topic, but weve got at least 20 emails from "iprimus" saying theyre changing their database and need our account infomation.i laughed so hard when i checked the junk box in outlook once and say 8 in one day.
i just forward them to wascamnet [wascamnet@commerce.wa.gov.au] im not sure what they do with it, i just hope they follow it up.

Similar thing
A couple of weeks ago I received 3 text messages in 1 day telling me that I'd won 600,000 pounds (as in $$) in Nokia's 40th birthday celebrations. To claim my prize, all I had to do was respond to an email address included in the text, and include the code word.....hello, I don't even have a Nokia phone.
Funny thing was, all 3 text messages originated from different numbers......
I'm guessing the scammers would ask for a small 'fee' to help with the financial transaction.....then neither the fee nor the 600,000 would ever be seen again.
I'm guessing these scams continue to do the rounds because people are drawn into the idea of winning something.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is
