Carp fishing in the USA and Europe are big events.
In the USA they even have Carp fishing tournaments where the prize monies would shit all over the most prestigious Australian gamefishing tournaments prizes.
About the most we get for the duuuurty bastards over here is the local annual Carpathons :)
I know i had a ball catching the durty aussie carp in the lakes and dams in VIC. Sure beats sitting around doing nothing when all other fishing avenues are a no go. Or when you just can be bothered packing more than a rod/reel and some slices of bread!
Been having great fun catching koi and giant goldfish in Ballajura. Shame they dont seem to get as big as the eastern states carps.
