catching live bait

Can anyone please give me some pointers on where to go for live bait (scalies ect) if your using the Leewin or Coogee ramps? Last time i dropped down the sabiki rigs all i could pull up was 2 inch long pinkies!

Any info would be great, cheers

If you catch them the night before are they likely to stay alive with aerator?

yeah i know.. sabiki rigs go ok anyway. might be best getting up and dropping boat in super early so i can get some bait then head out. Water change in the night is too hard basket i think.

i thought throw nets were not allowed in wa but i just had a read through the rules and they are ok as long as you have a license and watch out for the exclusion zones.

even set netting is allowed in most coastal areas but if you read the rules there are so many if,when and times to watch out for.should ban nets all together.

As far as i read the rules , Nathan is correct. The Coogee jetty is in a no netting zone but the Ammo jetty ( Woodies ) is far game as long as you have a licence and keep to bag and size limits. The new rules are pretty clear if you take the time to read them .

As far as banning all netting " keg " If done within the rules, and bag limits are controled i see no problem with it. In fact with the new rules quite a few more areas have been opened after long closures. It is great to see a bag limit of 9 litres for bait fish now in place from the 1st of Feb 2013

Outlaw, the Coogee ramp, and the Coogee jetty are two different places as far as i know. The ramp is ok for throw netting ( If this is the one near Alcoa ) But the jetty near Beach street is definately a no netting zone .
