Catching red emperor in Exmouth

 Hi I live in Exmouth and have a lot of spots but I still can not find that big red or nany , any help would be great, thanks

Hardest part with reds in Exmouth

You have to travel a fair way to get to where they live, and they never get barotrauma so they fight from the very bottom to the very top. With all that distress signal in the water, the sharks literally chomp them whole in no time. I often find as well that because they are the one species that is so hard to get on jig (normally reds only take baits) you catch 3 sharks to every 1 red you hook. The bait in the water (especially tuna) brings the sharks in plague numbers quick smart.

lastly, dont fish any lighter than pe4 or even pe5, with 100lb plus rigs. You won't stand a chance against the reds or the sharks otherwise
