Hey Everyone.
Been Catching alot of catfish on the goldcoast lately, just wondering what kinds of catfish are up this way?
I've caught a fair few different types but can't find any info.. i even looked on the qld fisheriers site and theres nothing on them.
I know they are very annoying and aren't very liked but i would just like to know a bit more about them and if we are supposed to throw them all back or are they protected ???? Please help :)

I think only the eel-tail
I think only the eel-tail catfish, or cobbler, are protected, and then only in the swan-canning river system.

If you are going to eat that,
If you are going to eat that, cut out ALL the red meat on the lateral line. Better to just let it go.

I wouldn't ever eat a catfish, was just wanting to know are the different types of catfish in qld and if there protected as i was told some were and some people also told me there a pest and are not supposed to be thrown back, so far i have easily caught 40 of these and all of them have been put back.
It doesn't can anything on the qld fisheries site about cat fish.. so yeah, was just wondering as i can't get any info about them..
