Thanks guys, yeh I threw it back as I wasnt sure what it was or the size if I was to keep it.
if you don't know...easy to pick for next time. should be a black spot, on the underside...

A very nice Breaksea Cod.......aka blackarse cod. Easy to see why so named when you have a look at it's clacker valve.
IMO they are one of the best eating fish on the west coast. And south as well
So, next time is you get a sized speciman give him a spot in your esky. You wont be sorry.

But just wasnt too sure, seein as though I dont get much out of my 14ft tinnie.
Do you know the size requirements?

actually it looks like boat carpet to me.
it looks like it was size but if yoour not sure chuck it back. you did the right thing but now you know , keep the buggers. great eating with a nice white flesh
