I may be very wrong here

I may be very wrong here though the swell may make the only fishable day Sunday/Monday unless you can launch your boat off the trailer into the sand and drag it in.

 You're braver than I am.

You're braver than I am. Willy Weather reckons it looks like a pretty wild +3 meter swell. The pubs the only place I'd be heading.

 Beaches chock  full of seaweed.

The point is accessible but got a lot of water over paths. Was one 4wd on beach.

If you want to add pics to an existing thread

Thu, 2020-05-28 21:14

You need to have the pictures on a photo hosting site. You select it as a HTML link, then go to "Disable Rich Text" on the bottom of the thread, then simply paste the link in. Otherwise , you will need to have started the thread yourself to add pics.

Best to stay home this weekend, firmest ground to load your boat onto trailer, is just SW of the caravan park, good luck, cheers Don.

Cervantes

Went out today. Got bogged launching! Was on the point. Much better sand closer to the caravan park but shallow with lots of weed. Pulled boat out ok there though. Needed another boat to pull my boat off the trailer to launch so I could get out. Thanks mate if you are on here! Got some help from a local with a tractor too but didn't need it in the end. Went out 10km. Got a big flatty and black arse. Small pink and dhu returned. Crew started to spew so came back. Have seen a pic from today with 3 tractors pulling a guy out at the same spot I was stuck. Weather looks great now

Passage

Sun, 2020-05-31 18:25

We took the main passage rather than south. Nothing was breaking but a few good sets coming through. It will be better tomorrow.

Yep

Heard a fair few people got bogged and needed help. We had tractor and launched further round the bay next to the little groin on LHS. Easy launch fairly easy retrieve at 530pm. Not much just a small snapper.

Weed under sand

Might be.

But also just fresh sand after the storm so hasn't packed down. The surge was a bastard too. Was about a foot difference just from the surge! Pain in the ass with such a shallow entry.

The point is good

Sun, 2020-05-31 19:57

When weather has been good. Next to jetty ( where cray guys launch dingy) doesn’t seem to be as boggy . But you have to put boat in further. Or extended hitch
