Charters between Two Rocks and Jurien
Submitted by buddharock on Tue, 2013-07-09 21:59
Hi Guys,
Looking for some up to date info on charters operating in the areas north of Perth. Looking to book for 15-25 people (i.e. whole charter) and apart from a great day out, alos looking for decent fish. Dates we are hoping for are August to mid September.
Couple of questions;
1. Worth going out at this time of year?
2. How much will conditions affect booking?
Any thoughts appreciated. Have found this site invaluable for research into all things fishing, looking forward to replies.
Thanks

That is a huge group
Charter boats north of two rocks take eight people fishing max.
Unsure of current two rocks operators, think no big ones.
mindaries has one or two that could cater for your group, as would hillarys and Fremantle.
southern cross is one name from Mindarie, mills and blue juice big ones from Hillarys, and many on here are big fans of saltwater charters from hillarys.
i have heard of a charter operating out of Cervantes, but I have no information about that.
my favourites are out of Jurien Bay.
yes winter is a great time to go out if winds are around 10 knots or less and swell under 2 m it is very comfortable. Less windy in general in Winter.

Thanks
Thanks Ricey,
Size of group is unconfirmed at the moment, looking into Saltwater and hoping that we will be able to book the whole boat if we go ahead with that location. Jurien looks good as well, associated costs with accommodation and travel to be factored in too.
Thanks again

I highly recommend Seasport
I highly recommend Seasport Charters out of Jurien. Minimum (unless you want to pay for 8) is 8 people on the boat, max you'd have to ask.
2.5 hours from Perth - Either of the two Caravan parks have accommodation that typically costs about $30 a head give or take.
If the conditions aren't safe they wont go out...
I've been out 4 or 5 times this year, with cancellations due to weather once or twice - always worth it...

Thanks for the replies guys.
After a bit of research I found out the following.
Jurien charters
Seasport - Max 12 people, 60ft boat, $270 pp
Lucky Last Cast - Max 8 people, 36ft boat, $250 pp
Both were friendly and helpful.
Hillarys
Saltwater - Max 15 fishing, $220 pp, breakfast, snacks, softies
Also very helpful
Looking forward to getting out soon. Will let you know how it all goes.

Cervantes fishing charter.
Hey buddy,
a fairly new charter operation has started out of Cervantes.
the boat is called "Shack Attack".
They got onto some nice fish on the weekend. I can speak to the skipper tomorrow and ask more info if you would like?
