Cheers to Anytime Brad for a great day on the swan - Blue Mannas
Submitted by sarcasm0 on Thu, 2015-03-26 17:22
Headed out today with Brad for a cracker on the swan, we ended up with 22 blue mannas, had to throw the last two bruisers back. Definately some of the biggest Blue Mannas I have seen out of the swan this year.
Thanks again Brad, good luck in Walpole next week mate.

Surprisingly not deep
Well not for me... I usually go in 22mts with 30mt ropes around mosmans/the coombe, these were all in ~<10 mts. Brad was saying 'are you sure you dont want to drive and Ill pull these ones' I just laughed and said we could go another 20 pulls of his line of pots and I still wouldnt be worried. I pulled all the pots and was just happy to be on the water. We also had a troll for tailor, but the wind had stirred up heaps of weed so after 1/2 an hour and a cruise around pt walter we gave up and headed home.

Twas a great day on the water today
Twas a great day on the water today, good lot of blues. Crab and prawn wantons for dinner tonight, fresh crab sandwich coming up for lunch tomorrow then maybe chili crabs. I will be walking sideways before you know it and the best bit was I didn’t pull a single net all day. I am used to taking the kids out and doing the lot so was an easy day for me.
Bring on Walpole now, I am down there for a week over Easter.
Cheers for the effort pulling the pots today Brian
I would rather be fishing

Yeah Grant
I actually said to Brad we need to take a photo before we split the catch of them all laid out with the biggest addressing the troops like a general. Dunno whose post it was but have seen it before. Anyway forgot about it at Brads while cleaning the boat and packing up, the photos above are all only my share of the crabs.
Definately some beasts there. 18cm across the carapace not uncommon in todays catch but the claw spread was only 700mm but chunky... Have not seen an 800-900mm claw span in ages.
