Chivers predator 650 longreach 2000 model

Hey guys has anyone owned one of these before? Im looking at a 2000 model looks in good condition. Do you know what the stringers floor and transom where made out of? Are they a heavy boat?
Do they have much stability at rest? i know they are quite a deep V. the one im looking at has a shitty 150 evinrude fitch which is dissapointing but what HP would you reccomend? Whats their max HP rating?
Is the hull foam filled? and would you strongly reccomend one or something different?
Main use is fishing, spearfishing and rotto trips with the family.
Cheers!

I cant help you with the boat, but I would certainly stay well away from an Evinrude Fitch.

Well they are one of the sites sponsors
Give them a call and a new 225 Yammy would be perfect as a replacement .....would provide almost double the fuel economy

I wouldn't consider the ficht in the price of the boat. Not worth anything. Hull and trailer price only.

People either love or hate
People either love or hate the E-Tech (its like the Ford v Holden debate). I have a 200hp E-Tech & think it is a great motor. But the Evinrude Ficht Ram was a disaster. If looking to purchase a boat with a Ficht Ram I would consider the value of of the motor to be $0.00 and factor a repower in to the budget.

The troublesome Fichts died
The troublesome Fichts died young. The ones that are still going are good if you maintain it well and only use xd100 oil

surely
Surely someone has had this boat before, looking for feedback. The info i have come up with so far is that they are a light boat for a 6.5m fibreglass and tent to broach in a following sea. Can anyone talk 1st hand?
Cheers!

predator
I know a bloke that owns one and reckons the ride is fantastic. He has a lot of boating experience. We have not discussed other aspects of the boat. The bottom half of the boat is out of a pacemaker mould.

I've got the 20ft Chivers
I've got the 20ft Chivers Eagle, which was the predecessor to the Predators.
As mentioned above, they are from renowned Pacemaker moulds.
I can't speak for the Predators from personal experience, but knowing the hulls well, I can attest to their performance.
We recently punched home 30nm from the FADS in horrible conditions and it handled it with ease.
Besides adding the Zuke 4-stroke, trim tabs were the best upgrade.
Sharp bow entry potentially lends itself to a bit of bow-steer but with the extra rear weight of the 4-stroke and trimmed appropriately, the attitude can be set just right in a following sea.
In chop, trim the nose down are carve through it like butter.
Pretty sure I've seen a few predators on here before.
There are definitely a few owners on the various Facebook pages.
eg.
Australian Old School Trailer Boats
Fishing Offshore Weapons
