They are such a beautiful looking fish tailor, the perfect looking surface predator.
I share the above compliment thanks for sharing your catch photos with us.
They look like you are going to release them.I have caught them that size south of geraldton and thought they would be great but over about 450mm they are not the best on the plate. The 650mm Mulloway I was getting were fantastic.I am aware you probably know this.I got one just around 450mm at trigg tonight I will see how that cooks up tommorrow. It was bled and iced so it should be O.K.I know the salmon trout will be good
The fins on both fish are the same. It's just one has both fins fully erect & the other has the front fin & back 1/2 of the rear fin only slightly visible because of the angle the fish is on.
Just pan fried some fish from last night and my favorites were
.herring
.tailor
.salmon trout
.tarwhine in that order
The tailor was firm and there is lots of it.Herring are hard work but worth it the salmon trout was stong flavored and I will release all tarwhine from now on.The Tailor I tried in Geraldton was 650mm so maybe about 500mm is the cut off for age and size.

Big tailor
are IMO the best fish to photograph. Just stream lined predators.
