good gummy as well and lost a screamer with lots of head shakes immediately after the surprise mulloway .....decky did a brilliant job of his first ever attempt at gaffing with a perfect jaw shot, was funny as helll though when he went to lift it into the boat, lots of grunts before it finally came over the side.
At the edges of the channels in 16m plus, I prefer those areas with a little bit of structure, the edge of the channel adjacent to Carnac has plenty of rubble ground and a light burley and running sinker with scalies works well .....not unusual to get several and I always put the smaller ones back as it is great to see them returning to the Sound
With gummy sharks only being male in the sound. Couple of years back i got 5 and the decky got 1 must have been on a gravel patch. Kept 3 and they were around 10 kg each
