chance of snapper in the sound all year round and theres some big mulloway out there too. Plenty of stingrays to test your gear. Try fishing the shipping channel markers Ive caught two nice mulloway out there before. Try and get some fresh squid before u setup and use the whole head for bait dynamite mulloway bait.

you wont be going anywhere in a hurry. Easy call is stay inside of the island, I'd launch from point peron and head under the bridge and hang around the southern flats. Squid, herring whiting, gardies etc. Or even a beach launch from mangles bay and drive along parallel to the GI freeway to the southern flats. Its broken weed/sand ground about 3ish metres deep. If you see any disturbances or birds working the water, you may have some salmon in the area.

Try trolling some small lures when moving around, we find we pick up small skippy and stuff which is fun on light gear. Take burley to get the herring boiling.

Bit all over the place, but I hope it helps.

truck loads of squid at the moment, went out late sunday and got 10 in 20 min, did see atleast 8 at once come up for the jig.

Launch from woodman point, and work along the point in about 2 metres of water, or where you can see weed patches among sand.

Should also be pretty easy to see plenty of boats out there working the gounds for snapper. so can keep your eye out.

I also saw a fishing WA show on the weekend with Ryan catching KG's in the sound, always worth a try too.

About 2 weeks ago took the kids straight out from GI & stopped in ~ 12 metres to catch some bait & caught massive size whiting.  Ended up keeping the bigums for a feed.  Also got into some big Tarwhine right in behind the surf breaks about 1/4 way up the back of GI not too long ago when I needed a quick fix late one arvo.  Just have to be quick on the trigger or they'll snag you.  Just stay inb close to the island & you'll be OK.  Ben

We've been having a lot of luck with scalies, if you get them you'd be in for a good go.

If you launch from woodies don't discount the rockwall in front of asi. My mate and I have got some rippers from there, it also means your close to the ramp if the weather turns real bad.
