Try googling phoenix, they make some very good coatings. they are in O'Conner. One boat trailer I used phoenix coating on is in better condition than the galvanized trailer under the Quintrex, they are both about 17 years old. Regards Marrisy.

The stuff we use up here on rio tinto marine areas is jotun barrier 77 . Or international interzinc. Both are 2 pac paints but they are great

Hey Sea hawk, just use cold galv. Probably best to buy in a spray pack as a 4 litre tin will set you back around $250. But it's real good stuff if applied correctly.

Thanks Sea-Kem, yeah I've tried some spray can ones, sanded it back but seems to go on quite thin. I wil try putting three coats on. Last time the surface rust came through after a couple of months. Was thinking of brushing a thick coat on. Cheers.

trailer work

When I have done mainlanders on trailer I use structural steel gal paint from Bunnings.3 step process cleaner, primer ,gal.

For my best results I use baby roller 100mm in foam. Gives great flat finish and bright gal coating.
