Container To Flush Outboard?

Hi Guys,
I'm on the hunt for a large prefered plastic container to use to flush my outboard 200hp Suzuki Muffs wont do the job. Anybody got any ideas and where I might be able to get such a large container, I've seen the round plastic chemical barrels but not sure as to how people have aquired them I'm open to any ideas and how to get my hands on one, Cheers Kev.

pinch the wheelie bin off an @ssh*le neighbour?
you can buy em off the council for $80 odd.
stoked with mine, portable so you dont have to fill the whole thing up every time, just wheel it out the way, then back into service when you are ready.

CCR Plascon 35 McIntyre

CCR Plascon
35 McIntyre Way,
Kenwick, WA 6107
Ph: 08 9493 5677
Fax: 08 9493 5733

They have IBC's which you could modify to suit your outboard, they also sell other containers from 50-200L.

IBC's start from $150, 200L containers are around $20-$40 again depends on the grade.

Thanks NW, thought that might be the reason - but wasn't sure if I was missing something else.

Flush Outboard

Fri, 2007-12-14 17:34

Thanks for the replies fellas, looks like CCR Plascon might be the go. I've scored a Wheelie Bin but the leg is too big even thought of cuting half the front out of bin but after measuring the leg and inside bin found the leg would be too wide front to back. Colin when I tried a new set of Muffs I could'nt get water to flow from Telltale pisshole so I asked a qualified Outboard Mechanic and he told me for such a large motor the Muffs would'nt deliver enough volume of water for the empellor to pump to top of motor, thus a flushing tank is needed. Thanks again fellas.

Yeah we had that problem,

Yeah we had that problem, with our motor sucking in too much air and the motor was gettig hot and the overheat buzzer would go off.

But smaller muffs which only just cover the intakes and squashing them so there is a nice tight seal helps, we have a 225 honda.

Muffs

I have a rectangular set of Muffs and your right alot of water escapes out the sides. I'll see if I can track down a small round set and try them before I invest in a large plastic tub cheers Dean.
