Yes, it is being closed, but not for a while and once demolished a resort style accommodation with 4 bars will be developed.
It was on the Carnarvon Shire's website, not sure if it still is.
But it will not go ahead until all the infrastructure, such as the sewerage, water and electricity is complete. All three accommodation properties currently supply their own.
The sewerage is complete, the new water pump etc is on its way and the wind turbines will probably be built later this year.
Bayview and Peoples Park Caravan Parks will also get developed, they have their proposals on the Carnarvon Shire's website.
This is from an extremely reliable source on the ground in Coral Bay.
On the subject of Coral Bay, which holds fond memories for me. If anyone wants to get into some fish up there, there is only one charter you need to consider and that is Bernie Vale's Coral Bay Game Fishing Charters, which I can personally vouch for as being a class above the rest. I'm sure you have all seen them on FWA in the early episodes catching sailfish and red emporer hand over fist. Bernie is one of the Southern Hemisphere's best Marlin skippers and will get you onto the fish for sure. Check out their new boat on the website below, and the good news is that they are doing Montebellos Trips later in the year. I'm saving my pennies as we speak.
I spoke to them at bayview where we are staying in july and they pub and the ningaloo resort is staying open to the end of october and thats when the redevelopment is going to start.
