Coral bay 2015
Just got back from a bloody great two weeks in coral bay. Been twenty years since I had been there as a young whipper snapper never being out on a boat up there. Had the first few days spent out of North passage doing ok with the fish catching some nice spanglies and sweet lips. Not the Reds a lot of others were catching but we were still having fun. Then had a day or two out of South doing ok one day and not too much any other time. We ended up with a red few cm over a nice rankin and a couple of others to make a good day for amatures. Had a few days catching nothing did a lot of sounding and covered a lot of ground but no real joy. Then the last couple of days were spent North again. Second last caught another couple of spanglies and sweet lips and towards the end of the day found an absolutely lovely ledge with nice colour on it. Went back the next day resulting in a few small coral trout lost a thumper cobia at the boat ( came off the bottom really quick got to the boat and had plenty of legs yet) another of the usual spanglies and sweet lips few small sharks and the last drop for cb 2015 resulted in a 70 cm spangle that went like a freight train and was great fun. Would have loved a lot more size fish and reds but beggars can't be choosers and the main thing was we all had a great time and have booked again for next year so 10 months and 28 days to go and I'll be back there. Was able to meet dan1 top bloke unfortunately didn't have a beer as we're always in and out at opposite times but all good. Any ways enough ramble here is a couple of shots off the phone
cheers ross.

Nice
Nice work mate.
we were up there as well last week- shame we didn't know as we could have pointed you in the right direction for some more fish. Spots are never a guarantee though- some days they are on, some days not!
At least you got into some fish though and still looks like a couple of nice feeds.
cheers

Battery of rods
Have you got enough rods or what, I think you have got a rod and reel for just about every species of fish you are liable to encounter.
A great holiday was had by all it appears, well done.

Good work, great place to go. I have recently (4 yeras ago) resumed going back to Coral Bay after a 15 year absence, so I know what you mean. Although we have to go further and deeper now to get fish. Back up at end of July.

Hey cc I am finding a little diff to that. Even after going for 25 years are still learning every trip and not necessarily further or deeper. Some of my original spots produce every year!!
