Coral Bay April 2014 (pic heavy)
Submitted by DC on Sun, 2014-05-18 16:08
Recent trip up north to coral bay produced some good fish. The weather was terrible and there was some serious flooding but the fishing was excellent.

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Thanks guys, got the trevs in about 4 to 6m of water just behind the reef near the white water. Pretty tough ground to get them out of.

Oh how I miss the NW fishing wise.
Those Rankin are super. The first Coronation is definitely one, but the second one I think but stand corrected is possibly a Tomato Cod. Help me anyone.

Yip
Not a Chinaman, thats second from the bottom that one. I dont think it is a simple coral trout. But I think a coral cod might be closer.

Poppers
Ye all the GT's were caught on poppers, they were just not keen on stick baits for some reason.
