It’s a pity that this
It’s a pity that this happens and it’s not the first time. Transient population and unfortunately I don’t think it will be the last.

Sadly it happens all to often
When we used to go north for the southern winter it was like you would hear stories of people being robbed in caravan parks starting in Broome and working on down the coast and stopping at Geraldton.
One story we heard was that a couple would pull into a caravan park with a van and there would be nothing at all in the van,it was totally gutted so they could just fill it with stolen gear and they would be off after 1 or 2 days.

Happens everywhere
Sadly, there are muppets everywhere who think the world owes them something for nothing
The same thing occurred in Albany over Xmas for a few years; in particular they were targetting engels / eskies full of booze
Mandalay Caravan Park have a security guy wandering around full time
Coral Bay is a haven for people touring Australia on a budget and/or just plain rude enough to take what isn't theirs.
It does my head in.
The last time we went to Coral Bay (2018) and I took the boat, I made sure that whatever I left in the boat overnight was what I was happy to lose....tackle box, lure rolls, teasers, scales, good pliers, tools, knives, EPIRB all went into the van overnight. It added to the prep for the next day's fishing, but at least I knew I had it all.
We always have the Weber & Engel locked up. It would be better if we didn't have to do this, but sadly that's where it's at, and if you do not do it, you're a more forgiving person than I am; I work too hard for my toys to have someone acquire them for free.
