Cottesloe Groyne?

Hi guys,

Anyone had any reports on or fished the groyne or beaches around that way in the last few days?

I'm heading to Cott. Groyne early on Monday morning - probably aim to wet the line around 4am. It doesn't look like there will be much of a breeze around but I'm keen to find out what happening around that way?

I'll let you all know how it goes too.

Cheers,

Rob

Hey Rob,

I might see you down there if I dont get up early enough to reach Trigg by sunrise. That reef drop off on the south side may be a good poppering spot.

Cheers

South side is holding tailor.

Plenty of herring & snook about on the north side.

Nothing much happening this

Nothing much happening this morning. Low tide probably didn't help much. A couple of small snook, undersize skippy and no shortage of blowies.

Took a cruise down to the beach by Naval Base and did not fare much better there.

Jurien on Friday....can't wait :-) Hopefully I will get time to hit up one of the north metro beaches at sunset this week.

Did you have any luck during the week? or in jurien?

I had a quick fish from about 4:30-6am saturday morning at the cot groyne. lures only and just landed a couple of snook and a few runs from small-med skippy.

At one point i put on a rooster popper 105 and had a few big splashes behind it but nothing hit it properly.

I might have to hit it up soon myself. There should be a few tailor around there about now.

Thanks Colin - I might try

Thanks Colin - I might try and get back out there one evening this week or next. High tides are currently PM which would also help.

I have not had much luck with the early morning in general - but one exception is any number of spots up past two rocks and into Wilbinga area (well...more the people I have been fishing with have had the luck anyhow) :o)

Up to the north, the fish go off at daylight, but around Cott I have had all my success in the evenings. It may be related to the south westers.

fish are there.we picked up

fish are there.

we picked up a couple nice tailor last night (the place was like ants on an ant hill)

But scano and i managed the only fish. 1 tailor 49cm, other 44cm.

But have to put up with the hoards of people.

Was quite funny, scano and i were basically fishing ontop of each other, and didnt tangle once. But every other person 25m either side of us managed to tangle with us.

Patience is needed.

popular spot

It definately is a popular spot.

Especially on the weekends, however if you are patient enough, a lot of the anglers leave when it gets dark.  Obviously the tailor arent as prolific then, but they are still around.
