So what's everyone think of Benny Cousins coming back to play AFL this weekend? Reckon he will do any good, make any difference to Richmond? Looks like theres been some serious media storm over him over in Vic land.....

Cousins Comeback
I have very mixed feelings about this. I have been and still am an avid Eagles supporter (and member) since their inauguration. Ben Cousins, in his prime, was my idol and the consumate athlete and the best footballer I have ever watched (and I have watched a few). When he finds his feet with the Tigers I am sure he will still be a handfull and will most likely poll many Brownlow votes. I wish him well in that respect and will follow his return with interest.
The damage Ben did to the Eagles as a club and a corporate entity has been massive and has reflected right throughout the club. It will take many years of rebuilding to repair the damage. His actions were extremely selfish and he was not helped by the underworld associations that still claim him as their own. Ben is an absolute fool for the choices he made and I sincerely hope, for his own good, and for the reputaion of his parents, that he makes some more meaningful and responsible decisions in the future.
Time will only tell I guess.

-sure he was stupid - maybe he still is but he's having a crack. I think the Eagles hierachy have a lot to answer for in turning a blind eye to his behaviour until it was too late. Good on Richmond for giving him a go.

Well, I would have to think that the game has passed the guy. Would be really surprised if this is the last headline for him this year. Still hanging around the same shitheads that started him on that path so what's really changed? One of the best footy players I have every watched along with Judd, sad story what waste of talent.
