Crabbing

A couple of things.
1. While out crabbing, an old guy asks to set his pots inside mine. No problem. I finish pulling half my pots and proceed to the next pot. This guy has set right on top of mine. I tell him it's a bit rich setting right on top of mine and he starts arguing telling me that I can set somewhere else cos the ocean is a big place. I told him to f^€ k off and that he was an idiot.
2. Today coming into Bunbury, crabbers have set pots covering entire entrance to the harbour. Does anyone police the harbours? Can I claim damages if their gear wrecks anything?

write formal complaint
Write out a letter of complaint to the harbour master of Bunbury Harbour telling him/her what a danger this is to the safe passage of vessels entering/leaving the harbour and send a copy of the letter to your local MP for information.
That usually brings about a bit of action. It may not solve the problem but hopefully some one will get of their arse and have a look at what is happening on their patch.

Crabbers
can be a bit out there, especially when they bomb the area you happen to be potting. As for the old guy potting on top of yours that is a bit rude.
BUT, I don't think coming into the area you made mention of, is any probs, just gotta slow down a little. By the wayI do not go around all the pots....
I crab during the week and the odds having to put up with D.H's is minimal.

Rope Cutters
We used to have the same dramas in Mandurah with knobs filling the channel up with pots. Enter the rope cutters now we just plow straight thru.
Problem solved!

Rope cutters
, hmmm, good idea, until some.innocent, grumpy, old crabber attaches some sling wire to the underside of the pots, problem is....that don't cut too easy.
You see, in most cases arrogance never wins because when one fails the attitude test, he starts to lose.

BAD BOYS, BAD BOYS What they gonna do when they come for you !!
Putting pots or nets etc in a Navigational area is illegal must be outside Navigational area so as not to impede any vessel Navigating that channel or area.
