Crabbing harvey estuary
Submitted by joycey on Fri, 2015-01-02 07:52
Hi all,
Hoping to go crabbing in boat this Sunday in Harvey Estuary. Winds in morning going to be 15knots South to Southeasterly. Is this wind ok for dropping crab nets in estuary?
Also not sure whether to use Dawesville or Parkridge boat ramp, which is better for launching / retrieving.
Cheers,
Joycey

Wind will be fine...
...allows your floats to hang back properly and can use it to slow the boat down as you approach the gear. I'd be more worried about all the boat traffic...I reckon there was more fiberglass/ali than water in the Peel inlet yesterday!
