Crabbing north of Woodman Point
Submitted by Ericl on Sat, 2023-01-28 07:26
Hi
Thinking of doing a crabbing / squidding trip around cockburn. Squidding in the sound and crabbing north of woodman. Is it worth trying for crabs in that area
Thanks for any replies

Yeah i recall that they were all nice sized. I just used a pack of chicken drumsticks until we ran out so we were barely trying and still did ok out of it.

I think the most common approach is snorkelling for them there mate, although I went 3 weekends ago, and it was abysmal, only getting one. My bro in law went 2 weekends ago, and did a bit better getting 9 crabs for the 3 snorkellers, but it took 2 hours.
this time last year we were getting 20 in about 15 minutes of snorkelling.
