Cranking along
Well its nice to see so many members and guests on the site of late, new records are being set left and right which is great to see. I know there are a lot of mixed opinions on what to do with the great white's at the moment and I would ask you all to keep the personal attacks out of the equation and just focus on the discussion. (I will apologise to uglyprick for having a go at him, I was frustrated at fixing the fuel tank in my boat and took it out on that thread which when I first read it thought it was just baiting for bites)
Anyway, that being said, its good to see many of you guys thinking outside of the box now that the ban is in and trying for alternatives - shallow water sambos, prawning and travelling to other destinations are a few that spring to mind. I'm sure there are plenty of other alternatives that may soothe that fishing itch whilst waiting for cray season to kick in, or the ban to end.
On a side note, things are starting to fire up in Exxy, Tim and I raised and hooked 4 marlin on Friday, only landing 1 unfortunately. Two of the fish would have been in the 60kg range and the others small at 25kg'ish, one of them was hooked up before the second lure even hit the water which would have been a new 'hookup' speed record. As for other news, someone many of us know raised 4 sails today and landed 1 fishing solo - I won't say anymore but it looks good for the billfish bonanza this weekend!! Also the gulf has finally cleared up and the free-diving has been the best its been in months with plenty of trout being seen and gathered for the icebox / dinner. Its looking like a good summer at the moment, might just pay to look into getting up here while the ban is on down there.
Another thing, just a reminder to support our sponsors where possible - they give you guys info on products and services, discounts and it would be great if you looked after them - looking after you - with your business.

Supporting the sponsors
I try to support Oceanside as much as possible and have spent hundreds of $ at the shop.
We just enjoy a fishing chat with the fellas there and in particular the man who know it all Ryan.
