Personally Id much rather that they added a month to the end and/or made the amateur island season the same as coast.
Island amateur (and commercial) pressure nowadays is very low anyway and the shallows virtually unfished.
Perhaps also (just a thought of mine) that during the demersal ban to be allowed to catch a fish for immediate consumption onboard in remote areas-no fish to be landed
but agree on extra month at end of season, i found the first month & half very unproductive for pots last season. think it was only the divers makeing the most of it.
for pots ,divers def. gets an advantage. we started catchin last week in nov.then i put my boat up for sale ,sold my boat, ordered another and by that time the season was nearly over .
