Crays and fish
Gday guys.
Figured i would throw up a little report on the last couple of weeks.
We managed another good year on the white run out from woodies. Easily getting our limits each day. The gentlemans hours launches were the go, with a nice couple of hours each day before lunch.
Definitely makes things alot more enjoyable.
Over christmas we spent a few days down in mandurah and figured i might aswell drop a pot in down there at the same time. Ended up with a nice feed of crays each morning, and a couple of handfuls of crabs to top it off.
A few sneaky feeds of King george inbetween have been welcome too. And make for a nice easy relaxed morning in the sound.
Also since the demersal ban finished we have got a couple of decent days out off perth.
The fishing has been good. Plenty of dhuies and baldies around. The only downside is that over the last few years we have started losing a few fish here and there to sharks. But the last few weeks we are averaging a couple sharked each trip which is frustrating.
Overall its been a great way to finish the year though.

Was literally about to post
Was literally about to post the same thing re sharks. Lost two demersals off Hillarys this week. Heard of a charter boat losing 20. Some Spots in two rocks now unfishable. Slowly coming down the coast and can’t see it getting better. And nothing will be done. It’s just ignored.

Yeah its abit of a concern
Yeah its abit of a concern isnt it. From what used to be extramely rare in the metro area, to almost expected each trip now.
I have multiple spots out in the 70-80s that are unfishable now. Just full of thickskins.

Some awesome catching there
Some awesome catching there Hodge! Everything you posted is fine eating.
For those worried about the sharks - a 6 month demersal ban will starve them out of the metro area and back up north
