This clip has just blown up all over social media and I thought I'd share it with you guys. Its probably one of the best fish clips ive ever seen. I imagine not everyone will enjoy it as much as most of us will but you gotta love the commitment and overall message of the clip.

Sorry im not a fan either, reckon thats taking it too far and just going to end up bad for all involved, especially the poor volunteers having to bring bodies from the water. Goes against all the rock safety vids trying to save lives.

You have got it in one Ads, doesn't matter if its a fish of a lifetime or one to dream about, no fish is worth risking life or limb for.
I have fished some pretty mean spots but that vid made me cringe in fear of what might have happened then finally did.
It goes directly against what the ads on tv and warnings on what no to do in a big way.

Liked the video to an extent and I have done my fair share of rock fishing in swells but that's a recipe for disaster. One knock to the head on a rock and surge drags you out and its all over given the lack of safety gear on most.
Can still catch those fish without being stupid about it!!

Experience in waves which you are riding is completely different to being knocked off your balance on rocks.
Awesome to watch...but bloody stupid. Very lucky if you ask me. I hope i'm wrong but if they keep doing it for much longer we will soon be seeing a memorial video of one of these boys.
I did then the best that I knew how. When I knew better, I did better.

It might look like this video is just of one of their sessions and they just got unlucky, but its footage shot from many sessions and this is what they do day in day out. Im not condoning what they do like I said from the start its not for everyone, but they way they've delivered the video with the footage they have and the commentary I think its just unreal and am totally blown away.

First off this is just how we fish with or without the cameras... We've surfed all our lives and feel at home in the water. I've had hold downs in big waves where I really felt afraid for my life, more then anything spinning the stones has thrown at us. Yeah the last bit of the vid looks pretty gnarly, but it is a similar experience as surfing. Ive been bowled over on the rocks plenty of times before and after ive been on the wave. Not quite like that in the vid tho. How about how dangerous it was at the start when they are climbing down the cliffs?

great vid-I am in 2 minds, yes somebody is likely to have to rescue them eventually dead or alive.
But on the other hand every adventure sport has people who push it to the limits and sometimes a little past such as big wave surfers, yatchsmen, mountain climbers, pilots, astronauts, explorers of old, Travis Pastrana...
If there werent these sort people life would also be a fair bit more boring and also it is where many cutting edge products/materials etc are developed.
Ive never been one those for "regulate this, ban that", or having a desk jockey decide whether its calm enough for me to put my boat in the water or go rock fishing etc

Rob - read your post after posting below - not one for bans myself and agree if we never try we could never succeed but a bit less adrenaline would have made them fish "safer".
Maybe the way it's edited makes it appear worse (hell, great teaser vid for part two and worthy of a reality TV show (crap over big brother and IFish!!) but a rock fishers aim should be not to end up in that situation. The way they were fishing at the end it was only a matter of time before the final scene played out (I assume he was okay otherwise it wouldn't have been uploaded).

I gotta admit the video
I gotta admit the video itself is great and thanks for posting Beau, but the thing that stuck in my mind (particularly the more I thought about it) is was that they are breaking most if not all rock fishing rules
-Wear appropriate gear including safety gear such as lifejackets, rock cleats etc. where needed
-Watch the waves. - be mindful of changing conditions (aware all wasn't shot the same day)
-have an escape plan
-when a waves comes get out of the way (if in doubt get out)
-no fish is worth your life.
As above the other thing that struck me is those rocks were reasonably fishable with experience and a bit of nouse if you followed the above (obviously not recommended for novices first up)!!

It is awesome footage.
But it did put shivers up me watching these guys last night, simply because to young crew that are so influenced by social media they will be influenced by it.
It seems to me, and this is only my observations that young inexperienced guys see crazy stuff and just want to do the same, fair enough.
The problem is these guys are obviously no amateurs and despite going guts up a few times, they know there shit.
What I mean is they have the some of the right gear on, they are fit, have awareness, and crew around them, if it goes bad.
To copy them you don't need a boat, jet ski, or any real understanding of the ocean, just have a go.
Having been a keen surfer, diver and fisherman for 25+ years this does get me a little concerned.
Due to the fact it just seems like "pure adrenalin"
But when when it does go wrong if your not onto it it, can be fatal.
I don't want to put a downer on it, as you said it is unreal footage, I just hope young crew that see it don't think anyone can do it. Those of us that do know better realize it could end badly.
Mate in my teens definitely thought I was bullet proof, guess age and experience makes us a bit more wary, still do dumb shit every now and then though, just aware the consequences are reality if it goes bad now.

Was pushing a mate on his and tripped over my own two feet - did the tuck and roll to save myself but put the hand out, didn't sprain my wrist but tore tendons on the join of the forearm and wrist - all a week before a major fishing trip (luckily it was with my boat and I was taking a mate come anchor boy/launcher).
The missus said that's stupid before my trip but I just replied I would have gone with a cast on it (and cut it off half way through) if I had too!!

such a good well put togther clip! Watched it a fair few times thats for sure, regardless of your persuasion of the topic theyve portrayed all of our angling obsessions brilliantly with some amazing footage to back up it up.
Theyre mad enough to take the risks but have more than enough experience to deal with the consequences unlike your average tom Coumbes going down for a casual rock fishing session. And as for the climax of the video at the end, yes it was edited that way for full emotive effect, that has probably happened more than once to them im sure.. everyone who watches it ends up with their jaw on the floor at the end which is the video creators intent!
Im certainly looking forward to hunting down more videos from these guys!
