custom boat builders Perth

So I have sold the Assassin and after keeping an eye on the market the past few months finding it hard to find the boat i want. Am going to check out a few boat builders in Perth when i am down in October. I know about Epic Marine and will duck in and see them, bullet boats a bit to pricey, anyone else I should go see.

I am looking at building 6.5mtr plate walkaround that will handle the chop. Something like the Assassin but a bit smaller, economical, plenty of deck space and be able to sleep 2 in the cabin.

Any thoughts cheers. BTW wont have time to hit the boat show and only have a few days available.

Southbound down in Dunsborough. Good boats and have a model that fits that description. Just deal with the factory and avoid Bosun Marine though.

look forward to seeing you and hope I can help out. just one thought though 6.5 walk around able to sleep 2 (comfortably) you will really need to work with your builder as a lot will have to be compromised due to size, will pm you some details soon)

Custom Boat

Go see Bruce in Henderson at Oceanic Fabrication. He has 6.8 centre cab at 18 degrees that sleeps two that he has nearly finshed for himself, motor is suzuki 175 4st. Also had a spec boat out the back with same dimensions. You would probably get it for a good price. A few guys on here including myself have had boats built by him.

Interesting exercise. Check out his website.

Chris doesn't build boats full time anymore but if you're not in a hurry he still builds some between FIFO shifts.

Heard some pretty negative stuff about stagg lately. Quality boats but slippery businessman.

I hope it does stay up mate , razorliine built me a centre console a while back with in 6 months the paint was peeling of , asked for help but cause I was in the Pilbara "cant help you " 6 months later the deck was cracking up and had real visible signs of ali cancer , still no help from razorline , it was only just over 12 months old , at the time I was working in the marine whsp for rio at dampier as a sparky , our ali sparys in the marine whsp was a gun I asked him to have a go he chased cracks on the the deck for hours and the gave up and said to me this ali is full of salt

I spoke with Razorline at the last boat show and they admitted to me there had been problems in the past, but they have new management now and it wouldn't happen again , that's fine but I saw my old razorline centre console , sitting up on dreamers corner in karratha a few years back, looking very sad , but it did still have Razorline on the hull that's enough said

ally doesnt get salt in from

Sun, 2015-09-20 20:07

ally doesnt get salt in from new, its after its been exposed to seawater and in cracks it "fizzes" when welding, impossible to get out of the crack completely unless ground right out
Having said that at times bad ally comes thru even local stuff.

At GBB years ago we had to cut out pieces of at least one boat, the ally just started to delaminate like layers less than a yeart old.
Not the builders fault but was their responsibility.

Paint? Always a struggle to keep paint on ally especially where it comes to an edge or fitting.

Because you had a Razerline 40 years ago Peter and know they have new owners and builders yet you still bag them, no wonder people think your a twat.

I used to fish in this 8m Razerline a fair bit when they came to Exxy and they never had a bad word to say.  Yes I defend my site sponsors, but I also defend them based on the fact that a lot of years in the marine game and I haven't heard bad word about them apart from your ancient history being repeated as if it were yesterday.

wasn't 40 years ago adam more like about 16 years ago , they might be building good boats now , I had them build me 1 a year after they were ali boat builder of the year , I wish I still had the picys as I would post them , when I spoke to the razerline salesman at the mandurah boat show he even admitted they had had quality control issues years ago but he said that was past them , its like if I had bought a Leyland p 76 (car of the year back in the day) I would still be griping about it , oh yeah wasn't cheap cost me 35k 16 years ago if you wondering why I am still cranky about it

The cracks might have come from all of the 20 foot Tiger sharks you used to grapple with off Onslow?
