Dams south of Perth
Hi All,
I'm fairly new here so please forgive the ignorance.
I just wanted to ask if anyone has been to any of Logue Brook, Wellington or Harvey Dams in the last week and if so:
Did you get any bites?
What are the water levels like?
I went last year to Logue Brook and it was very low. I forget which month it was. I think June or July. My 4wd was off the road for most of last winter so didn't bother driving down there but now im real keen to try some of my new stuff on freshwater species before the season closes (even though Logue Brook stays open, but im not sure if it even has anything in it).
Looking at aerial view Harvey looks pretty low.
If you have any stories of bites or pictures of the dams and water levels which were taken in the last few weeks, i would very much appreciate it. Is it a good time of year to try or is it best after the season opens again? I know trout like the cold, does this apply to pesky perch too?
Are parts of Harvey dam on private property? can you go all around it? Looks like farming land.
Thanks again,
Give me a fish and I will eat for a day, teach me to fish and I will starve to death.

went there a few weeks back
went there a few weeks back caught 11 redfin using halco 45's.
youll get perch anytime of the year man there pests. jus like blowies
if u take the harvey quindelup rd all the way down past the causeways u wil hit farms.
but bfore u hit the harvey rd theres a left turn about 800m before its cald honeymoon road
take that road and u hit some mean 4wheel dryv tracks.
i wudnt atempt to go down in a 2wd mate. if so, goodluck lol.

thanks caughtup. Im still undecided where to try. harvey looks like the most promising but you cant really camp there, logue brook i like because u can park where u feel like it but then again not sure how good the fishing is there.

G'day Fausto, welcome to the
G'day Fausto, welcome to the site! Me and a mate are heading down to Dwellingup/Murray River for a few days camping and fishing this weekend and I'm hoping to do a day trip over to Harvey Dam for a fish. If you haven't been by the time we get back, I'll let you know how the water levels/fishing goes for us if I remember

Current storage levels
Current storage levels are:
Wellington 71%, Harvey 52%, Waroona 32% and Logues 27%.
If your after trout I recon Logues is the best bet and with the cooler weather they are starting to move about again now.

Sad
Looks like i wont get time to go the dams this weekend as mrs got me on wedding planning duties.
i bought myself a nice new freshwater flickrod (shimano catana 661) too so im real upset. put a pic of it here. got the rod and another shimano 2500 reel with it, but kept the sienna for it as i had 8lb braid already on it. ill use the other 2500 for summit else in future.
might go to yanchep later this arvo just to flick out lures (take my beach rod too) or maybe the river for bream to try my new rod.
Anyone who has been down if you could share any info would be awesome.
