Darwin Barra Charters

PLanning a trip to Darwin in March/April next year for a week and want to strike another fish off the bucket list the Barramundi. Have googled for charter companies but so many.

Has anyone had any experience good or bad and recommendations. Looking for 1 day only as going to Darwin with my partner to celebrate 30 year anniversary and been given a hall pass for one day.

Book early as that is prime run off time

Great fun but in my view over-rated, Jacks are more exiting and much better on the tooth as well but they do not grow to a metre (more the pity, you would never stop em)

You must be kidding

You must be kidding Sunshine, Barra aren't overrated, great fish to catch, will take lures, bait, fly, can cast troll whatever and good to eat if from salt water...love catching Barra. Sure jacks are good too and great too eat but nothing compares with a big Barra IMO. I know its common for people to knock barra, as a sport target and to eat... but I think they are one of my favourite fish to catch .

Id walk into one of the big

Id walk into one of the big tackle stores and ask them to hook you up with someone to take you out. They might even tale you out them selves if they like you. Hope the runoff starts at the right time for you. If they get a late cyclone up there it can stuff things up for you. But thats fishing.

Back Dodgy on that one, those blokes have been in the Barra business a long time and have the runs on the board, if you've only got one crack they're the guides, Sunshine I don't know this language of which you speak, non comprende.

Have caught some great barra on the Lower Ord and several other places including the Territory - yes they are good fun, yes they make your heart stop when they absolutely smash the lure but personally I think they are over-rated ...............JMO
