gee lads im in a fair old stink of a slump in regards to taking my boat out or posting on this forum.
have only hit the water once since returning from exy and would have been a while prior to that as well.
have had a few beach fishing sessions but more beers than casts hahahhaha
i havent even been following the weather or prepping the boat and gear for a day out, not sure my boat has hit water for 8 months +
seems like a mini premiership hangover after the fun i had at exy.
gotta find my mojo and get my boat back on the water either solo or find a new decky. gotta find that excitement
sat morning aus kick isnt helping matters but im okay with that
anyone else going through a form slump

I find it hard
Going Dhue fishing. Love swimming ( diving). And all in close stuff. Takes a lot of effort even going for pinks now. Hence boat on gumtree. I'm thinking more camping/ hunting / freshwater fishing. Going to get 12 foot tinny . For mucking around. Lost mojo may change in month or so. Think it's the time of year , days of crap weather ect . Everyone goes through it.

I'm sure you'll get back into it Lewis. Take your son out on the river or something, to get the fishing mojo back!

Definitely in the same boat
Definitely in the same boat (by not being in it). As you know Gilly I moved a while back and the boat neglect has continued. Went to start it the other day to discover the batt isolator had fallen apart. Bypassed it but couldn't get it to run, ended up having to pull the carbs off and flush the crap out of em. Unfortunately still sitting dormant for a while longer until I can get it to the new place... fishing for the future I guess, haha

Slump
I went out last week and am already walking around in a mood because of the crap weather! Have even thought about selling the boat to fund a new boat project just to keep busy, but haven't got that far yet!
I've been trying to find a regular deckie that can go out on a regular basis at short notice but no luck. Doesn't stop me going solo though.

Yep
Had a couple of nothing to talk about trips over the last few months.
Trailer has had intermittent light issues in the past.
Got a new Ranger couple of months ago, hooked the boat up and f%@# me alarms fault codes all sorts crap. Towed boat either way. Un hooked issues still with car. Back to dealer fixed under warranty, something completely unrelated to towing a trailer, so they said. After all sorted mentioned hypothetically what might or might not have occurred, was asked if I was using a patch harness as my trailer lights are LED, answer no. Bought the harness just to be sure. Anyways got home checked trailer wiring properly, and rooted.
Everything replaced with top spec stuff today, hooked up car without patch harness, trailer lights fully skits out. Shit, here we go I think. Connect patch harness between car and trailer, bingo all sweet. Bloody low voltage on a CanBus system.
Ready to go now , bring on the good weather!

My boat hasn't seen the water in 2 months, longest it's been out of the water! I've taken on a camper trailer project for the moment so once I've finished that hopefully I'll be more motivated to get the boat out.

Yep agree Taffy,it's the best thing about retirement. Fishing ...Love It. I'm always keen to get out for a fish session, exploring new reef area's, trying to find that "magic kilo tailor" in the white water! I stay in close as well-
The Jetski is great for for a last minute decision to go fishing. It's always ready on the trailer. No hassle towing to the ramp- quick and easy to launch- I still get a buzz riding the Ski out to any location.
Going to clock up 700hrs on the Ski this week when I go out- all I can say is I hope the next 700hrs are just as enjoyable!
My Dad taught me how to Fish-Thanks Dad.(RIP)

Gilly you ever do the inshore
Gilly you ever do the inshore pinky stuff? Can be in and out in a couple hours with fairly minimal prep. Only downside is it can be a fairly early wake up or if you're going in arvos coming home after dark you can sometimes feel a bit over it. I dont even bother fishing the deeper demersal stuff anymore it can make for a long day and for me it is always demoralizing lol. Come down my way in my next break for a pinky sesh if you like

I'm the same as Beau. I've stopped fishing out wide as takes longer to get out etc. Do most of my fishing inshore from FFB and seem to do just as well if not better than out wide. Only down side is need to be on your spots early, but I head in after few hrs so not such a mission to get out. I've found mixing things up keeps the interest going. I've been mainly soft plastics and driftbaiting but going to try metal jigs on FFB soon as well. I've also just bought a GoPro so going to be videoing as well. Basicly try new things to keep it up interesting. I fish mostly solo.

My boat hasnt hit the water in sooo long, think im still hungover 5 years after leaving exmouth. That place has ruined my fishing mojo, even though Karratha has the goods too.

I get sulky when i dont get
I get sulky when i dont get my boat wet for a while too.
Lucky for me when i get that way and announce Im chucking the boat on gumtree the missus grabs a wet wrasse and slaps me with it and says ,"dont be stupid, you know what you were like last time you did that!!"
Sheepishly I admit shes right and go outside and kick the outboard in the guts and see if theres any charge left in the batteries.
I find spring the worst time of year. Sooo much wind!
Hang in there mate!

Shovel
Been so busy that if I want to use the boat I'll have to shovel the dust out of it , been here in Denham since November and the boat has been in the water 3 times and it doesn't look too impressive in the near future either

gotta say its frustrating.
gotta say its frustrating. we got a boat sitting out front but its going no where fast. doing some work on , new donk, new windscreen, fix gel coat chips , carpet deck , fix up the electrical , mount the gps and sounder then maybe get out on the water if the weather lets us, first voyage will probably in the estuary to give it a bash. looking at about 2 months . hopefully sooner than that but not holding my breath
