Deep drop sinkers

Hey guys just wondering what ur using as sinkers past 400m. I've tried 90 mm PVC filled with concrete but seems to light for the size and getting caught up in the current. I recently change my cv joints and axels so I've cut them up and welded a hoop on them. Just after other people's thoughts as lead isn't exactly a cheap option any more. Hears a photo of what I'm trying to get down to cheers

i use 50mm solid round bar
with about six inches of 4mm chain welded on top can cut it to what ever weight u need ,i use from 1kilo to 2.5 kilo lenghts. try sims or one of the scrap yards you can get a few meters for $20.00 and i found they where easyier and faster to cut with a 5 inch grinder with a 1.25mm disk than with a drop saw
