Denham Launch Ramp.
Submitted by Deckie on Sun, 2016-08-07 20:30
Hi folks, i heard that the launch ramp at Denham will be shut down for 2 weeks from 8 August 2016.
I think its the ramp in the ceter of town.
Can anyone tell me what the ramp at the end of town is like, the one opposite the caravan park.
I am taking a 4.0m tinnie up there at the end of this week & would be good to know if it is ok for launching.
Thanks.....

It's shallow, I tried to launch the Quintrex 490 Lazeabout near low tide and gave it a miss
A 4m tinny shouldn't have an issue though, saw plenty of tinnys launching there

When I was up there the other week the space between the two jetties has been made into artificial land with a huge crane sitting on it

Now these a man that thinks on his feet
Top idea, give the crane driver a side fillet of spango and he should be butter in your hands.

Thanks.
Thanks for your input folks.
I do like the crane idea
.... i think it would cost me more than only one flank of fillet Lol....
Sounds like we should be good launching the tinnie from the other ramp, good to hear.
Again thanks for the feedback, we are there from this saturday 13th for a week.
If any other F/W members are there let me know, be good to catch up.

Packed.
Packed , strapped & ready to roll out in the morning.
A casual start time & an overnight stay at Billabong before heading into Denham saturday morning.
Last year we stopped at Billabong for the night & had the best fishermans platter i have had for a very long time.
All the fish is bought fresh down from Carnarvon, so if your there for around dinner time, i would reccomend you treat yourself.
if anyone is up there for the next week, leave a message & we will try to catch up.
Maybe down the pub for the game on saturday & next friday night.

Launched.
Launched the tinnie at the northern ramp at the end of town no probs.
Boats to 5.5 mts were doing it easy but larger were having a few probs with the shallow water.
Big ones can still be launched at the regular ramp, just have to ask the construction team for a gap in trucks to let you through.
Southerly winds are a little annoying but it looks like they will be dropping off for next week.
We enjoyed glass off conditions for most of our time here the last week & looks like we timed our departure well.
Good luck to tbose herd or heading here.
Pinks & blacks were our bags, just need to look for them.
