If all goes to plan I should be picking up my boat from Epic on Friday and definitely heading out on Sat.
It's been way to long since wetting a line so am extremely keen to get out there and the wind is looking perfect.
I just hope all goes to plan

Yep will hopefully grab my boat tomorrow and get it ready on Friday. Got a couple of areas I want to try but generally just want to get out and burn some fuel and clean out the injectors. Haven't been out for a few months.

It was fun if you call half
It was fun if you call half standing and half kneeling up inside the bottom of the machine to get access to the hose that was probably put in from the top initially before they put the cab on. Then when they made a new pipe, I done it all over again. And yes, it's still warm.

Geez it was quite out there
Geez it was quite out there today. Almanac was saying shit and SHIT it was! Swell was solid offshore and Undersized Dhus and pinks were all we found. Couple of boats we spoke to at the ramp bled as well.
Couldn't even pull a fish of this...

In my experience, fish
In my experience, fish sitting on top and on the back (deep) side of a lump of hard ground that came up to 35m from about 43m. Interested to hear others thoughts too

thats interesting stevo, because that appears to be attached (no real sepperation) I always thought something like that to be a cave or an overhang with no visible presence of fish ! Be interested to hear other people's thoughts as well.

No expert here...but I'm thinking fish, we get slots shows like that of 2rocks...one of the old salts I know whose fished there most his life says the bottom around direction bank is usually big flat limestone plates full of caves/crevices I suppose that's why sometimes you have no shows of fish and hook up.

i would have thought bait fish or shit fish on top of the lump. the other day when we caught 5 dhuies on our first drop the marks on my sounder was long blue lines. the blue lines is what i tend to look for. my unit is the same unit as the one pictured with a P66 tranducer.

ocean reef
Headed off oceans reef as at 600... pretty quiet in front of 3 mile in 25m only managed a massive cuttlefish on a gulp, size of 2 footballs. Sambos and assorted undersize species at 8mile. Decided to drive out to 65m line and very quiet. Managed a decent snapper, baldie couple of KGW and 10 skippy on way back. Dropped passanger off at 1430 and went back to 25m spot and got a size snapper and then dead as a door nail 1600 to 1700 n pulled the pin.
Cheers

Not bad for us
Went from Ocean Reef at 6:30am, and back at 5pm. With 4 on board we ended up with 12kg and 5kg Dhufish, 2 Breaksea, 2 Pinkies and 1 Baldchin. We did 60nm and fished between 45 and 87m, so had to work for it. Lots of quiet periods. I thought the wind was pretty good....worst point perhaps 12 knots for a short period...no sea anchor required.

We did ok out from
We did ok out from dawesville. Got a 18 and 13kg dhu and three others on the first drop when we arrived at a spot in the 50's. The other 3 dhuies all released then shifted spots back into the 40's and picked up a couple of whiskerys and pinkies. Quiet in between bites like belly said.

We had a pretty slow day too. Cleaned up on sand whiting first thing then went looking for demersals, only a 60cm Dhu went in the esky with a couple smaller dhu's released.
Spose cant complain with a feed of whiting and a smallish dhu.

Had a sicky and Went down to seabird and put the boat in on Friday, it was so boggy I had my tyres down to 10 pound and still had to use the max tracks about 5 times to get back up the beach. And after all that no fish heaps showing on the sounder but nothing. I put a fresh fillet off black arse down and something big took it pulled the boat around for 10 min befor breaking off, probably a big Ray very disappointing day out tho but that fishing.
