Denham question

Hi all,

Heading to Shark Bay in June as we do each year, staying in Denham.  Been there a number of times before and go ok catching Pink and Black Snapper which is all good, but reading through posts on here and seeing some you tube vids I've seen lots big Bluebone caught. We've come across small models of these in the rocky shallows occasionally but nothing of size.  Any advice on the type of depth or ground profile more likeyly to hold these in the bay?  Also seen some good Rankins caught, so again any advice on the type of ground for these appreciated.  Found plenty of reefy broken  ground in different areas to the north of the channel but all seems to just be loaded with Pinks, and I'd like to try target something different.

Appreciate any info or advice

Has some amazing ground with big fish.......IF you can stop them, got some great rankins on the huge drop offs but strong currents can make it difficult ....lost plenty of other unstoppables

wish i could help.

i am still tryng to master the bluebone, but only found babies.

found some decent rankin cod in the drop offs of the channels. i think the bigger bluebone might be found near south passage etc out of denham side form what i have heard?

or for soemmthing different could target the macks and there were heaps of big tuna around when i was up at the begining of the month.

We used to chase bluebone alot up in shark bay.

Heading up towards cape peron is your best bet.

And fish the shallows, 4-10m and within 500m of the shore generally. Crab baits are by far the best, and a 150lb handline...

Have a look around bottle bay for little bombies and broken ground, plenty of fish in that area.
