DHUFISH CAUGHT OFF CARNARVON

Caught an undersize DHUEY on Monday off Koks Island. Was approx 1/2 inch undersize,so was released into 15 fathoms in top condition to grow some more. After fishing up here for years its the first time I've heard of one this far north.Sorry no pics were taken, maybe next time.

Would most likely have been a deep sea jewfish - H. burgerii from memory. Heaps of em up there in the right places.

Would love to see a photo if it was a dhuie though - would be an eye opener.

Excellent - would love to see the pics then - like I said would be an eye opener!!

That fish in the photo was caught in exactly the same spot you caught your dhue though - as you can see they look pretty close. Even with the light band through the eye.

Had a pro cray guy on the weekend tell me he was catching rankin cod in his pots off two rocks last week - still waiting for those pics as well!!

But its a strange world out there sometimes.......

Very nice mate, a few more southern species for variety won't go astray up this way. Tongue out
