Dhurien Bay

Been up here since Sat with just the kids and steamed out twice staying inside the bay due to a more than decent swell running.
The old man popped up for a visit and we headed out today to some bombies in 10m I sounded out 3 years ago.
First drift and Lachie hooked up and we saw a flash of silver and it went hard disappeared and pulling string. The boy did well keeping tension on the fish and letting it run when it went.
Some very careful gaff work and it was in the boat going 72cm and a touch under 7kg. A new PB by a longshot.
My 8y old landed two Blackarse leaving Dad empty handed... again.

That's what it's all about. Shallow water Dhu is a lot of fun. Especially on soft plastics. Great fish for the young bloke.

Cheers all, it was a pretty special moment seeing Lachs bring this baby and he's been on cloud 9 ever since and hanging out to get to school so he can show off the pics. The trip was topped off with him wanting to land a tailor so I set him up with a mulie on gangs and he walked through a packed Jurien jetty and nailed one first cast much to everyone's disgust who'd been catching nothing haha.
This trip also saw my 6y old daughter get right into fishing now and she was baiting up her own pink ugly stick and catching me hardy heads from the jetty for bait. Time for an upgrade for her birthday next week I think.
If I were to ever convice the Mrs the boat needs to grow by an extra metre....
